The oil cooler is a heat exchanger between the lubrication system and the cooling system. It has coolant and oil passing through the same component, but of coarse the two do not come into direct contact. Coolant heats up faster than oil so the heat from the cooling system is used to bring the oil up to operating temperature.   Hey frtzzzz, This is AUTOMOTIVE FUELS AND LUBRICANTS pdf, covered all units.. SYLLABUS UNIT I MANUFACTURE OF FUELS AND LUBRICANTS Fuels, Structure of petroleum, refining process, thermal and catalytic cracking, products of refining process, manufacture of lubricating oil base stocks and finished automotive lubricants.

Maintaining your lubrication system. To keep your engine in proper working order, you need to maintain the lubrication system. This means changing the oil and filter as recommended in your owner’s manual, which is usually every 3, to 7, miles. You also must use only the grade of oil that is recommended by the manufacturer.   Manual: Engines – Cooling, Lubricating & Fuel Injection Systems – Components; Manual: BMW E21 Series Brakes – Specs, Components, Remove, Install & Procedure; Material: Diesel & Petrol Engines – Cooling, Lubrication & Ignition Systems.

Start studying Automotive information (cooling systems/ lubrication system/fuel system). Learn vocabulary, terms, and more with flashcards, games, and other study tools.
